Personal Support Worker

Our Personal Support Worker (PSW) Diploma Program will give you the skills you need to manage the many different responsibilities related to taking care of injured, ill or aging clients. These duties may include helping with bathing, dressing and feeding the client, and handling the household tasks that clients can no longer manage on their own. As a PSW, you may also be required to change dressings, administer medications, prepare meals and offer support to extended family members. Topics of study will include, among others, Safety Hazards, Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation, Interpersonal Skills, First Aid and Following Care Plans.

To successfully graduate, you’ll also complete an off-site externship placement at a walk-in clinic, hospital, medical office or community health centre. This practicum gives you first-hand experience in the industry and allows you to begin putting into practice everything you’ve learned through our comprehensive program.  You’ll be qualified to find employment as a family caregiver, live-in caregiver, personal aide, respite worker and more.

If this sounds like the career you’ve been looking for, fill out our form for more information!
